This medal, one of several issued for the fourth centenary of Columbus, was designed by Ludovico Pogliaghi, engraved by Angelo Cappuccio and struck by Stefano Johnson in Milan, Italy. It is a reduced copy of a larger 102 mm medal of similar design.
