Jean II of Anjou (Jean II de Lorraine et de Calabre) (1425-1470) inherited the duchy from his mother, Isabella, Duchess of Lorraine. He was Duke of Lorraine from the death of his mother in 1453 to his death. Jean was the titular king of Naples, and as heir-apparent of Naples, styled the Duke of Calabria, spending most of his time engaging in plots for Angevin recovery of Naples. He married Marie de Bourbon (1428–1448), daughter of Charles I, Duke of Bourbon.
